Malaria control project launched

in the Amazon

More than 20,000 bed and hammock nets will be distributed in Amazonas state with support from USAID/Brazil

The launching ceremony of the project "Training for Sustainable Malaria Control" took place in Manaus on January 20. USAID/Brazil Mission Director, Lawrence Hardy, participated in the event along with the Vice-Governor of Amazonas, José Melo, and the Amazonas State Health Secretary, Wilson Alecrim. The project aims to reduce malaria incidence and mortality in four municipalities of Amazonas State through the use of long-lasting insecticide treated nets.  Read more.
