FAN´s executive team will receive coaching and counselling from a Steering Commitee composed initially by representatives from:

• Greenpeace
• WWF
• ICLEI
• FSC

The objective of the project is to promote "green procurement" of forest products from the Brazilian Amazon region within a Friends of the Amazon (FAN) Network of municipalities, governmental authorities, civil society and the private sector.

FAN project will support the adoption of public policies and practices on sustainable procurement for the purchase of forest products from legal and non-predatory origin from the Amazon region in Brazil by governmental organizations, to help curb illegal logging and predatory in the region.

FAN will be expanded to include a total of 4 programs to impact main consumers:

1. Friends of the Amazon Cities

2. Friends of the Amazon States

3. Friends of the Amazon Companies

4. Friends of the Amazon Citizens
