FORTALEZA, October 21, 2009 - On October 14 to 16, in the city of Fortaleza, the post-award and kick-off meetings of the new USAID/Brazil clean energy Cooperative Agreement were held. Activities will be carried out by a consortium of eight local organizations, led by the Institute of Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy – IDER.

Implementing partners are: Eco Engenho Institute, Consciência Limpa NGO, Usinazul, EDS Sustenergy, Civil Society Mamirauá, Renewable Energy Civil Society Organizations Network – RENOVE, Institute for the Development of Alternative Energy and Sustainability – IDEAAS, and Espirito Santo Federal University – UFES.

This 3-year cooperative agreement will implement renewable energy and energy efficiency that will have direct impact on climate change mitigation, emission reductions, and energy savings.
