CEARA, October 30, 2009 - On October 30, 2009 the USAID/Brazil Mission Director, Jeffery Bell, the LAC/SPO Supervisory Program Analyst, Sharon Nichols; and LAC AA/EMT Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, Andrew Lucke visited selected clean energy projects developed with USAID support in the Northeast state of Ceará.
The visit was guided by Mr. Jorgdieter Anhalt, Director of implementing partner IDER. They had the opportunity to visit three renewable energy projects: the sea weed solar dryers, the efficient biomass cook stove and solar powered telecenter at the school. These projects contribute to the economic development and improve health conditions of low income communities.
